There is a part available from VASI of Toronto called the linear actuator
that can be used in a powered Tenodesis orthosis. Check out this link.

Their unit should work but may need extensive modification/adaptation. $2,000 (US)

Just a suggestion, Rick, but try Northwestern O&P school in Chicago. At one time,
they had a source for external powered Wrist-Hand bracing, O2 and electric powered.

Rick's comment: No answer. Gone fishin'

My boss, Kyle Scott, was down at Rancho this week and saw a Hosmer
prosthetic unit that he felt could be adapted to the use that you seek.
He asked me to have you call him if you had any more questions regarding
this.

Rick's comment: Same Hosmer unit in need of motors. Gave me name of Rancho engineer. More info to come.

I used to work for Hosmer before coming to Fillauer in 1997. Hosmer does have
the drawings for the Rancho Hand Splint. The difference is that they were
trying to find a replacement motor for it. I thought they had found one with an
electric screwdriver motor. Who did you talk to at Hosmer? We may be able to
help get you started anyway.

Gerry Stark, CP

Rick's comment: Still looking for replacement motor. Brad is the Hosmer contact. 1-800-827-0070

Rick's comment: Bingo! Has units available and is very helpful.
Don't have too many other details, though.
