I am currently a resident prosthetist and researching the use of a RGO in
conjunction with bilateral transfemoral prosthesis. Has anyone used this
technique or heard of it being done before?
There are many applications for the use of this proposed design:
 Transfemoral bilateral
 Transfemoral / Hip Disarticulation bilateral
 Elderly pt with high level transfemoral amputation with little
strength
 Rehabilitation aid for 1st transfemoral prosthesis bilateral
 Gait trainer for high level transfemoral amputations
 High level amputation with flail contralateral side due to spinal
injury
or comorbitity
 Traumatic amputation accompanied with spinal injuries

I am looking at designing a system of transitioning from the lateral RGO hip
joints to the pylon at midline for the prosthesis. Any suggestions or
recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Katie Leatherwood
